Music and its effects on me

I have had a strong passion for music ever since I was a young child. Music use to be a form of relaxation and also entertainment. When I was about eight or nine I really loved the spice girls. I had all of their CDs, their game, and also their movie. They were very popular at the time and I knew most of their songs word for word. The music of the spice girls influenced me at the time to want to be one of the spice girls. Doing my hair like one of theirs and then practicing in the mirror. Music now is constantly changing and evolving now. I haven’t listened to any of their music in a few years. This just goes to show how some entertainers can be the best thing out and the next thing you know they aren’t nearly as popular anymore. Just like music that the younger generation may listen to may sound crazy to the older individuals who hear it. This can also be vice versa. Like when my mother wants to play her oldies and reggae really loud. Sometimes the oldies are okay but I can’t really seem to get into the reggae music. I enjoy different genres of music like r&b, rap, and also some pop songs. Music is a big part of my life and I listen to it all the time. Even when I'm in the shower I have to be listening to music from the CD player. When I go to the gym the music gets me more pumped up and into the workout. So it actually pushes me and entertains me to get my mind off the exercising. I listen to rap the most right now and there are new songs constantly coming out. Just like when the whole jerking music came out and everyone was doing all the dances to the songs. Especially at clubs and parties jerking music was being played a lot. It really had a big impact on the community and songs with dances to go to them were constantly coming out. People wanted to learn how to do the latest dance moves and people everywhere were doing it. Such as the song, "Teach Me How to Dougie". Music has changed me and other people by making them more outgoing and less shy or embarrassed to dance. If you know the dance moves that go with a song its easier to get out there and dance without feeling like you don’t know what to do. Or you’re not confident in your dance moves. Also listening to music with others can become a bonding experience. If you hear a song with a person and it’s the first time either person has ever heard the song, you tend to remember that moment. Then when the song gets big, u think "I remember the first time I heard this song". When songs turn into a hit and go worldwide, they really make a big impact in the music industry and the community. Such as Michael Jackson, his music was very worldwide and even though he has passed away he still has many adoring fans. People who had never even met him or didn't really know him were crying their eyes out. They had such a strong connection to his music which made them feel connected to him. I have and always will have a strong connection to music even if the theme changes. If people turn some music into a negative thing it still want alter my perception of the music.
